Higher Education (Post 18)
Higher Education - Post 18 Options
At Bradfield School, we encourage our students to aim higher and to consider the exciting opportunities that lay ahead of them after completing their post 16 studies. Although we do not offer sixth form provision at Bradfield, we seek to actively inspire, inform and educate our students in raising aspirations and empower them to not only make well informed choices relating to post 16 destinations (next steps after Bradfield School) but to also consider achievable and aspirational options beyond this.
We aim to achieve this through engagement in the following activities:
- Personal Development lessons and tutorial/high ability groups
- KS4 Careers Fair - The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University were both in attendance at our most recent event.
- Careers assemblies - Recent presenters include - HEPPSY (Higher Education Progression Partnership South Yorkshire), ASK Apprenticeships and a wide range of local sixth form schools and colleges.
- Enrichment activities and events which include input from local employers and alumni students (Ex Bradfield or TSAT students)
- Sixth form, college and university taster events and masterclasses
- Personal Careers Guidance meetings
We know that academic higher education is not for everyone and actively encourage our students to consider a wide range of alternatives that best suit their aspirations and preferred learning styles/outcomes.
By challenging themselves and setting ambitious goals, students can discover their strengths, build confidence, and shape a future they’re truly passionate about. The journey ahead may take effort, but the rewards are worth it.
